Ukrainian Journalists from Kirovohrad, February 2004
We enjoyed an interesting day on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. These ten visitors arrived in Newton at 10:00 am and went directly into an orientation by Newton City government.
At Noon the group moved to the Radisson Hotel where IRIS and OPEN hosted a luncheon.

Ukrainian journalists with some OPEN Board members
After lunch the interns spent one hour at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Ina Heidemann's class. Ina enjoys meeting visitors from other lands and cultures and that same feeling seems to exist with her students.
The final lap of this whirlwind trip in Newton was a visit at the Newton Daily News. There the interns learned about the procedures and methods of selling advertising.
We, the OPEN Board, enjoyed their stay in Newton. We hope they found their time well spent. We hope they can return someday or maybe OPEN will visit them in the home towns in Ukraine.
