Ukrainian Journalists, January 23 - February 12, 2002
Newton, Iowa sister city organization, OPEN, was privileged to assist IRIS when eight Ukrainian Journalists visited the central part of Iowa.
Tetyana Besarab
Lyubov Patlaha
Tetyana Besarab is the editor of the Ponad Tikychem newspaper. She lives in Lysianka, Ukraine with her husband, daughter (age 19) and son (age 17). Before her current employment she was an education administrator. Lyubov Patlaha. is the editor of Zolotonosha newspaper. She lives in Zolotonosha, Ukraine. (Cherkasy Oblast is Iowa's sister oblast).
Anatoliy Viktoruk
Lyudmyla Morenko
Anatoliy Viktoruk is the editor of Spolyanski Visti newspaper in Shpola, Ukraine, which is also in Cherkasy Oblast. (Shpola has a sister city of Oskaloosa in Iowa, USA). He is married with a daughter (age 22) and a son (age 17). Lyudmyla Morenko is editor of Nadrossia newspaper in Korsun-Shevchenkivskiy where she resides. She has a daughter (age 30) and a son (age 24).
Fedir Pylypenko
Yevhen Bruslinouskyy
Fedir Pylypenko is the editor of Kolos newspaper. He lives in Talne, Ukraine with his wife and daughter (age 16). Talne is in one of the best agricultural regions of the Cherkasy oblast. Yevhen Bruslinouskyy is the editor of the Dnieper Star in Kaniv, Ukraine, were he lives with his wife and sons (ages 18 & 13) and daughter (age 1).
Olga Maliuk

Olga Maslyuk is the accountant for the Smela Horizons newspaper. She is married with one son (age 25) and a daughter (age 16). Smila has a close sister city relationship with Newton, Iowa. Olga's daughter is currently an exchange student living in Newton for the current school year. Next school year she will return to Smila to complete her high school education. Tetyana Bonderenko. She is at the Cherkasy State University Ukrainian Languages Department.
