Donetsk Ukraine Interns, November 18 - December 10, 2000
OPEN organization assisted IRIS in the locating of mentors and home stay sites. Seven interns were placed in Newton.

Alexei Saprykin interned at NAPA Auto Parts Store and Advance Auto Parts Store in Newton. While in Newton he was hosted by Susan and Rowe Winecoff and Marge and John Graves. Larysa Samosonok interned at Forbes Office Equipment Company. She was hosted by Carol and Fritz Kramer and Carol and Lowell Zimmerman. Nataly Gorkunova interned at Mid-Iowa Communication in Gilman Iowa. She was hosted by Janis and Ed Peak of Newburg, Iowa. Olga Kurapova interned at the Maytag Corporation and Sully COOP. She was hosted by Carol and Fritz Kramer and Sarah and Paul McCuen. Igor Gnatiyenko interned at Newton Manufacturing Co., Progress Industries and Allience. He was hosted by Bonnie and Dave Pitz and, Marge and John Graves. Anna Sheiko interned with Iowa Workforce Development in Newton and Des Moines. She was hosted by Helen and Keith Thorpe and, Cathy Doyle. Yulia Mamayeva interned at Nolte, Cornman & Johnson and Jerry Koons, both CPA firms.She was hosted by Helen and Keith Thorpe and, Rose Evans.
